Jen started in construction after high school at the front desk of a local contractor; organizing the material library, mailing contracts, and general office duties. Over the next 19 years she was dedicated to learning and growing. Jen’s experience in construction has ranged from administration, bid management and estimating, contract procurement, scheduling, to project management, cash flow planning, and program management. Jen leads project teams with tenacity, using her organization and communication skills to keep projects moving forward. She has managed projects from commercial buildouts, government buildings, military installations, water and wastewater treatment plants, libraries, K-12 and higher education, and more. Jen holds certifications in Quality Management, Project Scheduling, and Project Management. What she likes about construction is there’s never a dull moment watching a project come to life.

Outside of The Barton Group Jen is a professional disc golfer and likes to be in the gym. She has been the director of the Kalamazoo area’s women’s only disc golf club, CC Ladies League, and was co-director for the Michigan Women’s Disc Golf Series for 10 years. She says she might make a return to competition in the future!
